The Latest George Galloway Stunt: Expect More Lies.

Fiction, reported in the Globe and Mail: "I didn’t give any money to Hamas, I gave it to the ministry of health in Gaza to pay for the salaries of the doctors and nurses who hadn’t been paid. By the way, we’re talking about 20 odd thousand pounds, not millions. It’s a symbolic donation. I gave it to the ministry of health in Gaza and I’m proud to have done so."

Fact, by Galloway's own admission, broadcast on several Arab television stations: "I, now, here, on behalf of myself, my sister Yvonne Ridley, and the two Respect councillors – Muhammad Ishtiaq and Naim Khan – are giving three cars and 25,000 pounds in cash to Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh. Here is the money. This is not charity. This is politics." Not charity, but politics. Not to "doctors and nurses who hadn’t been paid," but to the Hamas gangster "Prime Minister" Ismail Haniyeh who, in fact, is not and was not the Prime Minister of Palestine.

Fiction: Galloway's Viva Palestina raised £1 million for the suffering Palestinians of Gaza. Fact: "However, based on information obtained from PayPal and the IBB, the Commission was able to identify only approximately £180,000 as having been raised for the Charity. If the website’s claims were accurate this raised concerns that approximately £820,000 was unaccounted for."

Fact: Months before Galloway handed over three cars and a bag of cash to the head of a gang of clerical-fascist, Jew-hating lunatics who have pretty well strangled the prospect of a free Palestinian state in the womb - and Galloway has admitted to the British Charity Commission that this was "'personal money' that had been handed to Hamas" - the Government of Canada had already provided $4 million in emergency relief to the people of Gaza.

Galloway wasn't banned from Canada, either. Section 34 (1) of Canada's Immigration and Refugee Protection Act specifically cites “engaging in terrorism” as grounds to prevent a person from entering Canada. Engaging in terrorism includes raising money for terrorist groups. In Canada, the death cult Hamas, the worst enemy the cause of Palestinian freedom has ever faced, is listed as a proscribed terrorist group.

If you are a triggerman or a bagman for a proscribed terrorist organization, you are normally considered inadmissible to Canada, and being a rich celebrity white guy with a British passport and a cult following in this country doesn't mean you're above the law. The Canadian High Commission showed Galloway the courtesy of letting him know that. That is all.

No Pasaran.

One can hope he losses. He is running in a different seat than before.

In 2005 he was not elected by much in Bethnal Green and Bow, only just over 800 votes and just under 36% of the people. This time he is running in Poplar and Limehouse, not nearly as 'left wing' a riding - people still want to refer to GG as as left wing. In fact it is a seat that is on course to be won by the Conservatives with out without GG running.

All he is doing is ensuring the Conservatives have an easy ride in this seat. He seems to have not taken in the fact that various Conservatives voted for him 2005 to ensure the Labour MP lost and to keep him in parliament to embarrass the left. This time around none of these people will vote for him.

He will be unlikely to finish better than a distant fourth.

Good research, Terry.

I am marking exams all day at my house (Monday, August 26) -- watching CBC Newsworld the whole time (not recommended).

They way CBCcorp covers this issue? The once-respected news organization interviews Galloway's chief spokesman in Scotland -- with the CBC host lobbing softball questions. And the spokesman repeats the same lies that Terry reports on. And some Jason-Kenney bashing is added in as well.

And, of course, CBC Newsworld refuses to interview a spokesman from a Jewish or anti-terrorist organization. And CBC refuses to interview Mr. Kenney. So Galloway wins, since the left-media in Canada only report one side of the argument.

Christ, George Galloway is a filthy cretin.

He will say anything, anything, anything to gain a rhetorical advantage.

It isn't truth. It's politics.

The great irony is that Galloway calls his party "Respect."

Funny thing.

The US openly allows Galloway to travel freely and speak his mind.

So-called libertarians like Ezra Levant and co. label themselves as freedom fighters, While the same stock of stiff cons (yourselves included) cry foul over Galloway being invited to speak here.

Who has it right? The US or Canada?

I guess you all need to be reminded that Hamas is an elected government.

And a further reminder must be made that democracy is what we are dying for in Afghanistan.

Or are we dying to install the appropriate puppet regime?

You're all a bunch of hypocrites.

When are we going to see Conservatism based on principles?

Methinks Manny needs to get the facts straight.

George Galloway provided material support to an organization listed in Canada as a terrorist group.

Thus he is inadmissable to Canada.

Too bad for him. Maybe we'll send him a can of cat food to soothe his pain, but no promises.

Whatever happened to Galloway's libel notice against Canadian Jewish Congress? Seems to me that they were amongst the first to point at galloway's dalliances with funding terrorism.

Lakish, in fact CJC was the first to raise the flag on Galloway about a year ago last month. Here is the article CJC's Bernie Farber wrote on March 20, 2009. He identified the issues far ahead of most. And contrary to popular belief did not ask that Galloway be banned.

http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2009/03/20/bernie-m-farber-a-friend-of-terrorism-is-coming-to-canada.aspx

As for Galloway's libel action against CJC and others, seems his lawyers put a word in his ear that by giving cash to Hamas Farber's contention was not libel but truth. I can only guess he dropped the notice otherwise we would have heard.

Hmmm. Seems nobody here has heard of the term "circular reasoning". "Hamas is a terrorist group because the GofC defines Hamas as a terrorist group". Never mind that Hamas hasn't committed a terrorist act since 2005 and renounced terrorism in 2006. Hamas are certainly a bunch of extremist nutbars. Terrorists they no longer are.
