Obligatory shamroguery and paddywhackery post

To begin with, my mother's tribe is from up around Scarriff, and my father's tribe is from East Cork, around Midleton and Glanmire, so we are only distantly related to the Glavins of West Cork, around Mizen Head, about whom a very, very distant cousin relates a story in the New York Times about how that branch of the family is descended from mermaids and disreputable tax collectors.

Glavin, I know that given the opportunitty to engage or smear someone who disagrees with you, yoo choose the latter but can I draw your attention to the fact that I've written several well thought replies to your post on apartheid and Israel. Perhaps you could reply back

People interested in divergent and informed opinions can go down to the post about Israeli Aparthied to read my well thought out reply. Unfortunately, the host of this blog has made it quite clear that this place is purely an echoe chamber in which dissent is unwelcome

The crucial difference is that you don't open up the newspaper and read noxious defences of what China is doing in Tibet or odious apologetics for gruesome and illegal state violence, in clear violation of international law. No reasonable person would put up with it. Yet in the case of Israel's occupation of Palestine people trip over themselves to defend what's morally and legally indefensible. Since you seem wholly unaware of Israel's human rights violations, here's a start
